Hard to believe how close this is to downtown Ottawa. It was about a half hour bike ride from the downtown core, where the Rideau River and the Rideau Canal meet. I’ll have to go back at a later date, since I ended up with a spot on my lens.
Went out and shot some stuff today with my 35mm lens. It came out okay.
Bought a new lens yesterday (AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G), so I went and did some shooting with it today. I think it turned out alright, although it’s very strange shooting with a fixed lens versus using a zoom lens.
Some days you forget you live in the downtown area of a major city and that things like this are roughly a fifteen minute walk away.
I have a bunch of photos from the Canadian Peace Officer Memorial too, but I’m just going to share these two photos before I put up a larger post tomorrow.
Selective colour is fun. Original below for comparison.
Camera gear was the usual. Slightly edited for more colour.
Colours need to make a comeback.
Number of decent shots: maybe four.
Wait, nevermind, it is. Shot this with my D70s with a 70-300mm lens.
Just another shot I liked. Hard to believe that so much of modern life is possible due to these wires.
No title, just a shot I like. I think it looks a bit like a heart.
Went out for a walk this evening. Here are some of the photos that came out decent. Shot with a D70s with an 18-70mm lens.
Took this today. A company allows for people to sign up for biplane rides over the city. If it wasn’t so damn expensive, I’d sign up.
Went out for a walk and took some photos today. Some were decent. Some others came out too washed out for my liking (that damn sun). First one is slightly edited, second is untouched. Third was added because I have no idea what the hell is going on. All were taken with my D70s, 18-70mm lens.
Apparently carving your initials into trees is passé, and locks with initials on them are the new symbol of relationships that are going to last forever. As a social scientist, I'm curious as to the difference in breakup rates between couples who do this stuff and couples who don't.
Took another adventure around the Ottawa area this weekend, going to the Byward Market area on Friday and the Aviation Parkway today (Sunday). All photos were taken with my Nikon D70s with the 18-70mm lens and an ISO of 200, none of which are edited. All in all, I took 335 photos this weekend, and these were the…
Just going to post some photos that I took today in Ottawa that I didn't quite like as much as the ones that I posted in the weekly challenge thread, or didn't quite seem to fit. All of these were taken with my D70s with an 18-70 mm lens. All other specs are unknown and confusing.
