Shooting People Cooler than You

I helped a friend shoot a punk show at a Chicago music club tonight (Vamos @ The Empty Bottle, if you're wondering). He's shot more bands than I have, but I was a little intimidated by the band and crowd. They're all way cooler than I am.

What do you all do to get over your photo-nerves? A little liquid courage definitely helped me wiggle my way up to the front of the stage tonight, but you can't count on shooting at a bar/being able to drink on the job all the time.

Side-note: punk bands are rough to shoot. They're always moving—and quickly! Fast lenses are a must.
