Hi Folks -

Right, then...so when I was at the camera shop a couple of weeks ago, I noted that they had some film cameras called Holga. They were plastic cheap crap. Now, whilst perusing Amazon, I see that there are Holga lenses to be had that can go on to DSLR's. I've seen the pictures...they remind me of how the world used to look after I'd been power-throttling Gin all day...

...but here's the thing: Part of me wants to get either a lens kit (Kitchen Sink) or a film camera, just to dick around with for shits/giggles...they look like they're good, cheap fun...anyone ever shoot with one of these?

Now, film. Whilst perusing* a street photography blog, there was reference to using film. The writer waxed poetic about how film is more betterer and whatnot and I'm not sure that I buy it...

...but here's the thing: Part of me wants to get a 50mm** lens for my XG-7 (I inherited this from my father; it was the only thing, for that matter) and go out and play with it. I think being able to do trial and error with the Nikon has given me the confidence to play with a largely manual film camera..again, just for shits/giggles...

I find it ironic that I'm having these weird thoughts so soon after buying a fine DSLR...anyone ever experience this? Is this GAS?

*I also find that I like to use the phrase "whilst perusing" a lot...

**This would replace the 50mm lens that I sold when I took that B/W class in 2009...I had bought a short mid-range zoom and felt that prime lenses were sub-par, so I sold it. I was a dipshit.
