Racing season is off and running! Last weekend was the season-opening weekend for IndyCar and Pirelli World Challenge. I was there trying to shoot as much of it as I could.
In three days, I shot 5,603 pictures while walking approximately 26.3 miles. Without the help of Oppo’s Azrek, I wouldn’t have gotten some of these shots. He will be rightfully rewarded.
The pictures here are a good sampling of my favorite shots of the weekend. Included are shots of IndyCar, Indy Lights, Pirelli World Challenge, and shots from the paddock and grid. I didn’t shoot any of the actual IndyCar race as it’s a nightmare to shoot without a photo pass.
The rest of my favorite pictures from the weekend can be viewed on my website.
Azrek requested a good shot of the black Maserati which is why there is a lot of that car.
I have a friend at Callaway, so there is a lot of their PWC Corvette, which is a beast! They also brought the AeroWagen along just for fun.
Also, I was really into taking pictures of wheels over the weekend. There are a lot of wheel shots.
One more thing, I did shoot a roll of film on Friday. I’ll post the results of that once I get it back in a week or so.
Hope you enjoyed viewing these as much as I did taking them.
