The weekend started on Thursday afternoon. I had to pick my credentials and go to a photographers’ meeting. Some of the feeder series were running on track so I shot a few pics, because why not.
This is how the rest of the weekend played out. Friday and Saturday I was up at 5:30 AM and at the track by 8:00 AM for the daily meeting. Both days I left around 5:00 PM. On both Thursday and Friday night, I got about four hours of sleep. Saturday night, I got three hours. Sunday morning, the daily meeting was an hour earlier. I was at the gate at 6:50 AM. It was still properly dark out. I left the track that day around 6:00 PM.
I took 7,691 pictures and walked 33.5 miles over the weekend. Monday was hell I was editing pictures and literally falling asleep sitting at my desk. Thankfully, my deadline got pushed back by a day. I finished editing and got everything turned in today.
I’m still exhausted and sore, but not sunburned (Thanks, SPF 70!).
I’m just posting a few pics right now until I see what gets published. Until then, this will have to hold you over.
And if you think that last pic is a close pass, just wait... Those close pics were taken at 18mm and at least a shutter of 1/2500 of a second. With the cars at speed, not puttering around behind the safety car or on a cool-down lap. Full beans coming out of a fast corner.
I’ll post a full gallery and whatnot tomorrow or the next day.
