So there is this location that I have frequently seen in IG car photos taken by lots of folks in the local automotive scene.
For the longest time I had assumed it was somewhere much farther away and somewhat annoying to try and get to (google HRBT for clarification). Then I unexpectedly found a clue that it might actually be considerably closer and started looking into it and doing more research.
Now don’t get me wrong, I probably could have just asked one of the local guys where it was, but solving the mystery on my own was far more fun.
Long story short I finally tracked down the spot and it turns out that not only is it truly just a fantastic spot for shooting cars... even if a bit overused, it is like 10 minutes from my house. So, since it’s the coolest car I have access to, I took my little truck out there and started having fun.
I generally just had a lot of fun playing with different focal lengths, and exposures. The best part though was that for the half hour or so that I was there not a single car came by. And it’s rare to find a spot so secluded in such a large populated area.
Overall It was a blast though and I can’t wait to bring some decent cars out there and take some photos... oh and I still need to learn how to do exposure stacking. I took many different exposures of some of the setups with the intent of stacking them later... But I wasn’t quite able to figure it out, but I will definitely circle back around to that when I get the chance.
