Cameras remain to be magic which I don’t fully understand.
The meter on the Nikon F2 my father gave me was inoperable. There are two contacts which provide power to the prism (circled in red). I got correct voltage from those two contacts leading me to believe that the problem resided within the prism itself.
I patiently waited until a good deal popped up on another F2. 20% off got me a “bargain rated” unit through KEH for less than the price of the prism alone. It arrives last night. I put batteries in the camera and everything appears operable. “Yay!”
I then try the head on my Father’s. And nothing. I guess I’ll send it out one of these days to get fixed because it’s important to me to have this camera work.
At least I have a working F2 though.
