Bringing kinja into focus, one frame at a time
Bringing kinja into focus, one frame at a time

Have you ever wanted to learn how to shoot portraits but didn’t know where to start? Yea me too, so I started out with my girlfriend’s cat!

I recently picked up a Fotasy 35mm F1.7 CCTV lens to play around with. It was only $28 on Amazon! From the reviews I’ve read the center of the frame, and only the center, is the only part that will ever be sharp no matter the aperture so you’re best to just leave it wide open. This is a manual lens so focus/aperture are set manually.

I also got a Meike MK-320 flash. Can’t shoot proper portraits without proper lighting eh? I had the flash angled up about 75 degrees so it wasn’t too harsh on the white hair. Settings below. Let me know what you think of the lens!
