Shot on film! Cars! Cats! A rocket! And a flower.
These are my favorites from the rolls. More can be seen on my website.
This first batch is from the Exotic Car Festival at St. Armands Circle in Sarasota, FL that happened on 09.28.19. I totally forgot that I shot most of a roll that day. I discovered the roll in the camera when I went to load another one in. It still had a few shots left, so I snapped them and pulled it out.
These next ones are a roll of Kodak Ektachrome E-100. The first shots are from Festivals Of Speed. In the middle there is the ULA Solar Orbiter launch, shot from St. Petersburg, FL (a six minute or so exposure). And the last shots are from the February duPont Cars and Coffee, with a bonus azalea from my yard.
The Festivals of Speed shots are a little over-exposed, but that’s not entirely my fault. Getting an accurate meter reading in very mixed conditions (shadows and bright sun) is a dark art and the Minolta doesn’t excel at that. But I just got a Nikon 8008S to help with that. It has multiple metering modes (spot, center, and full matrix) so that won’t be an issue. The camera just arrived today. More on it soon.
That’s all for now. I’ve got the Nikon 8008S to play with, with a lens arriving soon for it. The camera is crazy. I actually need to read the manual that came with it. I’ll probably be able to pop off a roll with it before bringing it to the IndyCar Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in a handful of weeks, just to familiarize myself with using it.
