Some sort of bug (assassin beetle?) climbing on some sort of flower. I took this on my way to photograph FoJ festivities in our neighborhood, and I was carrying my 40D with a Tamron 18-270. Generally, I’m not crazy about this lens, but it does make a good walkabout lens, especially since I didn’t feel like lugging the 70-200. You can see some of the shortcomings in the top left corner of the image. I wish I had taken about 5 more seconds to frame it, but I was hurrying to catch up with my family.

This was taken in aperture priority mode at f/5.6 and ISO 200. Right out of the camera.
