It's no secret to those who know me that I'm a huge car guy. I owe that in part to growing up just a stone's throw away from one of the greatest race tracks in the United States, Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. Road America has been the host to all sorts of events, from IndyCar and ALMS to LeMons and ChumpCar, but no matter how your automotive tastes lean you will be certain to find something you love during the HAWK Vintage Weekend. This year I made sure to go and snap up as many pictures as I could.

Unfortunately, such an event draws quite a large crowd. Tens of thousands of people flocked to Elkhart Lake, a town with a population of less than one thousand. I've always loved the details of vintage cars, so to combat the inevitable crowds of people in my shots I decided to focus on some of my favorite details of these machines, such as the engines, badges, and headlights.
