So, on Saturday April 22nd, I attended the March for Science in Chicago. It’s a cause (among many others) that is very dear to me.
So, after having made a website and put a blog on it, I’ve decided that I’ll be posting on it instead of making my long posts here. If it’s okay, I’d like to continue to make small posts here linking to my blog when I post a new one.
Remembered yesterday that a long time ago I got rights to post here.
So, I’ve finally done it. I’ve given myself a birthday gift I’ve been wanting for quite some time now. Hope you all enjoy!
So, the final post of my Chicago walk last weekend is of the people I saw all around me. I found myself being a bit more bold this time, not asking and just snapping. People were either friendly or didn’t even notice. And those that were homeless or performing I made sure to give some money to before photographing.…
So, my 3rd of my 4 posts on my recent Chicago trip is just random stuff. I’m deciding to keep the longest for last. But here you go, random Chicago.
On my Chicago trip, I found that take photos of people taking photos was quite fun and turned out really nice! The last one here I can’t help but smile about because she finished taking her photo right after I took mine, turned to me, and just started laughing.
Yesterday I took a trip to Chicago starting at 10am and ending at 8:30pm. 23 miles later I had taken almost 1000 photos (I’m getting more particular about my shots). Most of them either dogs or people. So, my first post is the dogs, because everyone loves dogs, right?
I try my best to stay away from place with people on this day, so I went for a walk after work. Sadly, I only had an hour as the park closes at 5pm. Only took a few photos. But the walk was a much needed one.
I have a feeling I’m going to be going back to this place so often.
So, this has become one of my favorite spots recently. Small pond off of a small road with huge fields and nice wooded areas around it. I first found the place Back in May of 2015. Didn’t get a lot of good shots, as I was fresh with the camera. And the area kind of fell to the back of my mind. But one part that stuck…
So, saw a link to DxO OpticsPro 9 Elite. They are apparently a promotion right now at http://www.dxo.com/us/digitalcamerauk where you can get it for free. So I decided to try it.
So, yesterday was National Wetlands Day. Having the day off, I decided to go out and see if I could find some wildlife. The windchill was about 4F so I didn’t have much hope.
So, yesterday I decided to take a trip over the the Mississippi river on the Iowa side. Perhaps see some eagles and other wildlife. So I went to bed early and woke up (without an alarm) around 4 a.m.
I may have stupidly missed the Women’s March on Saturday, but I did go to a state park. Which are also vital to the environment. Here are the “good” shots I took.
As others, selections curated by season, after some deliberation and much edit.
Okay, sorry for the lateness of my post. Took some time to go through all my favorites and whittle them down to what I thought was my best. Even though it was tough to get rid of some. One of these is my current phone background and one was my pc background until recently. So, without further ado
During the fall I took a little walk in a town I really like, just north of Chicago. This time I walked a bit further than normal and noticed a cemetery. I had photographed a cemetery since I lived in Savannah. And then it had been quite a few years.
Sorry I haven’t been here in a while. Work has been a bit busy during the holidays and I was in a bit of a slump. I have so many posts to catch up on...
