I try my best to stay away from place with people on this day, so I went for a walk after work. Sadly, I only had an hour as the park closes at 5pm. Only took a few photos. But the walk was a much needed one.
I have a feeling I’m going to be going back to this place so often.
So, saw a link to DxO OpticsPro 9 Elite. They are apparently a promotion right now at http://www.dxo.com/us/digitalcamerauk where you can get it for free. So I decided to try it.
So, yesterday was National Wetlands Day. Having the day off, I decided to go out and see if I could find some wildlife. The windchill was about 4F so I didn’t have much hope.
So, yesterday I decided to take a trip over the the Mississippi river on the Iowa side. Perhaps see some eagles and other wildlife. So I went to bed early and woke up (without an alarm) around 4 a.m.
I may have stupidly missed the Women’s March on Saturday, but I did go to a state park. Which are also vital to the environment. Here are the “good” shots I took.
Okay, sorry for the lateness of my post. Took some time to go through all my favorites and whittle them down to what I thought was my best. Even though it was tough to get rid of some. One of these is my current phone background and one was my pc background until recently. So, without further ado
Went out with the camera today. Trying to photograph nature during the winter in northern Illinois when it hasn’t snowed yet is rough. There is hardly anything around. I was shocked at the animals I did see. I saw three birds (one was a goose and another was a duck) But there aren’t any bugs around so scenery.
Just outside of Grand Marais, MN. Didn’t take any photos on the way in because I was just trying to get there before too late on Friday. Got into Duluth, MN just before midnight and had to find a place to stay. Almost everyone was booked solid. Lesson learned, don’t try to find a place last minute in the closest big…
Went out the other day after work telling myself I’ll find snakes. It was far too late in the day and I knew it. So instead? Lots of tree stumps and assorted things. Rest are here as usual.
Have I been posting too much? I can’t help it, I’ve been getting out a lot more lately.
So, earlier this summer we discovered a bunny burrow in my backyard. Seriously, can’t get much more adorable than this...
Just two days ago it was up in the mid fifties. Starting to look a bit like winter was on the outs. Today? Sheets of ice lining the cars and snow everywhere. But for that brief moment, it was looking up...
Very quickly took these photos on my LG G3. But honestly, I think they turned out better than expected. Just felt like sharing them now!
And out of winter springs life. Taken with my D70s 18-70 mm, ISO 200.
I went camping this week at South Whidbey State Park, which is on Whidbey Island in the Puget Sound, in Washington State. It's a really pretty car camping place, with old-growth forest (including a 500-year-old cedar that was saved by actual tree hugging back in the 70s), a lovely wild beach that was foggy most…
I love the rain, especially during the summer. The interesting thing about living in Wisconsin is that you can go weeks without a decent rainstorm, then you'll suddenly get torrential downpour, seemingly out of nowhere. I decided to grab my camera and photograph some plants after a particularly heavy rain.
