My new tripod arrived and we had a moment of sunshine today, so I went to go test out the whole rig.

I made some f-stop and shutter speed changes from the first test. I got a much better image this time. I even got a sunspot.

After just a few minutes, the clouds came back. But as they were just crossing in front of the sun, they acted as an additional filter. That made a second, smaller sunspot visible.

It’s to right and just above the large one. Just a little black spot on the sun today. Actually, it’s not that little. The larger of the two is bigger than the Earth.

I also reached out to a friend who is looking for a 2x teleconverter for me to borrow, which will make these come out even better. They are massively cropped from the full shot.
