I had a chance to do a little plane spotting today at Austin-Bergstrom Int’l. Normally, AUS is a rather sleepy airport, with a healthy dose of Southwest and American Airlines. But today, we had a couple of surprises. I’m looking forward to fall, when there will be less heat haze (it’s 101 in the shade today), bluer sky and better light angles.
US Navy McDonnell Douglas T-45C Goshawk from NAS Kingsville. This is the first time I’ve seen a Goshawk at AUS.

I’m not sure what was going on with this US Navy TC-12 Huron from NAS Corpus Christi. All the airport fire engines scrambled to the far runway, then one followed the Huron back to the general aviation hangars. No visible smoke, and landing/taxi seemed normal.
