Last week, there was an article on Paleofuture that featured an interview with an artist who colorizes black and white photos. It was interesting, but I don't agree with the process, and you can read my comment to the artist. This morning, I came across this fantastic photo of Orson Welles. I don't know who the photographer was. But can you imagine trying to colorize this photograph? It was shot in b&w, for b&w, lit for b&w; everything about it was intended for the medium and time and place it was shot. I can't imagine any reason that one would choose to add color to this excellent photograph.
