I've had this camera bag for about a week now; I'd finally, now that I'm not bleeding everywhere, like to show you what's inside!
This bag isn't like my old bag. Actually my old bookbag just crapped out on me (the zipper came off). I used to only carry my camera with whatever lens it was attached to with me because I didn't have any sort of padding. This bag has lots of padding. Padding protects all the contents of the inside pocket, while the outside pocket in front (the one that's less inside than the inside pocket) is slightly less protected, however, I don't think it's unsafe for whatever you can put in there. Inside the main pocket there is a padded laptop pocket. There's a flat-pack pocket out back. The best pocket of all, which makes this bag useful as an everyday bag, is the pocket that is accessible from the front underneath the main pocket.
I assume the bottom pocket is for tripods, specifically Manfrotto tripods/monopods, however, my tripod wont fit in there (I don't think, honestly I haven't tried), plus it works so much better to keep cables and less used items that don't need to make a mess of the main pocket. Without further ado: (Other than apologies for the cell phone pictures; I'm shit with this camera)
This is a picture of the bag next to an electric guitar for size comparison:
Looking in when using the zipper to open (as opposed to the flap):
Immediately accessible are my trusty T2i (with whatever lens I happen to be using), another lens, a mystery padded case which contains meds I might need quickly, and my Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook (which is the computer I use for editing; my only computer).
The picture above shows my sketchbook and my notebook/smaller sketchbook (there's a pen that I forgot, but I'm not pulling everything back out to do this again). You can see the front pocket (under the flap) that contains an old Nikon Coolpix point-and-shoot and a black marker. I don't have the battery charged for the Coolpix, and I'm looking for my charger (I have to go through about 20 boxes of my old stuff to find it).
If we pull out the rest of the stuff from the bottom pocket, we get (in my bag today!):
- Smaller Sketchbook
- Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook
- Canon T2i
- Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM (The secret is revealed!)
- Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS (My best friend's kit lens; he has my 40mm pancake)
- Medicine Case
- Nikon Coolpix PnS
- Black Marker
- Black Pen
- Laptop Charger
- Screw Driver
- Medical Tape (Cause of my slicing open my finger at work and bleeding all over it)
- Another soft case with my external HDD inside
And that's it! The bag is awesome, and isn't anywhere near completely loaded. Gear all together weighs in at about 10-15lbs. The shoulder strap is strong; Everything is top quality.
This particular bag sells from Manfrotto's website for $110.
TheGirlfriend gave it to me, she found it in a Goodwill store marked for $5.
It's the best bag I've ever had.
