First of all an autumn-y Twingo pic I took with my iPhone for your time:

A friend of mine is really into macro photography, and now she is thinking of upping her game by getting a new lens. Her main focus is on photographing flowers and small insects (Bees, Butterflies, Ants etc.) on flowers. She currently uses a Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC macro lens on a Canon 1100D body.

I was thinking about suggesting the the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM to her, since it isn’t too expensive, and it is a true Macro lens. However since she doesn’t mind using an adapter everything is possible, as long as an EF adapter exists. She also wouldn’t mind going second hand.

I know my way around normal lenses, but I’m not really knowledgeable about macro lenses yet, so I hope someone here has a good suggestion.
