So, recently, I got a package with an 85mm f/1.2L II in it. I read review after review that said that the lens is HUGE and that it's wonderfully beautiful, but horribly heavy. Comparison shots after the break.

I apologize for the bad quality of the photos; They're from my Nokia Lumia 925, though, so at least they were taken with "Zeiss" optics. Lead photo is of how tiny the 85mm f/1.2L II makes my 6D look.

I hadn't seen my friend in a while, and he had not seen the 1D Mark II N yet, so I grabbed it, along with the 70-200mm f/2.8L lens that was attached to it, since the 1D only goes to ISO 3200 (on ISO Expansion). I looked over and saw this:

Then, I figured the picture wasn't bad enough, what with that largly overexposed bit and the stain on my passenger seat, so I edited the picture as horribly as possible to get across the size of this behemoth.

With a little bit of Flickr editing magic, I got this:

They say you should only display your best work... I have no regrets with that last picture.

Seriously, though. This lens is HUGE for a prime. It's even heavier than my friend's 5D Mark III w/ 35mm f/1.4L.

If you can't read the picture above, here's the info:

6D: 2.8" Long
85mm f/1.2L II: 3.3" Long
Combined Weight: 62.9oz, or 3.93 lbs

1D Mark II N: 3.1" Long
70-200mm f/2.8L: 7.8" Long
Combined Weight: 95.1oz, or 5.94 lbs

The 6D combination weighs 66% of the 1D combo.

The 6D combination is also 55% of the size of the 1D combo, in terms of length.
