Hi, I don't think I've ever posted here before, although I've had authorship privileges for a while. Anyway, I don't think the sentiment I'm about to express would be appreciated on any of the other Kinja fora at which I write.
I'm a (very) amateur photographer, and one of my favorite subjects is abandoned structures. Yesterday at work (I work at a TV station), we ran a story about a town to the west of here that just received a grant for tearing down a bunch of abandoned houses spread around the city limits. I practically started salivating as I saw footage of these houses. I've driven to this town a few times, and it's a total study in decay. I'm extremely tempted to drive out there with my camera before they start tearing down the houses, but I don't know how to go about it without looking like a vandal.* Decisions, decisions.
*I live/have lived in rural areas, so entering abandoned buildings is usually pretty easy for me, but I'm not sure what to do about a cluster of buildings in a one-stoplight town.
